Flood relief food drive set for Saturday

The Interfaith Council On Needs St. Landry Inc, or ICONS, is a food pantry that serves families in need, but it will be on the receiving end of help this time.
The Queen of Angels junior high and high school youth groups are sponsoring a flood relief food drive Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Queen of Angels Church Hall, 2125 S. Union St. in Opelousas.
The groups will be collecting non-perishable items as well as cleaning supplies to be donated to ICONS for distribution after the food pantry suffered significant flood damage a couple of weeks ago.
Recently, the food stores were moved from the ICONS location on North Market Street to the old Toyota building across from Holy Ghost Catholic Church on North Union Street to clean out the original location.
