Daily World News,
A mob of people, composed mainly of local farmers, have apparently scared away Hassan Maliksha, a Syrian refugee recently immigrated to the country last year.
The man is believed to be hiding inside the Körös-Maros National Park, a 501.34 km² area where the fugitive is thought to have taken refuge for the past several days.
“When something looks like the devil and acts like the devil, you can be sure it is the devil” explains one of the villagers who owns a small dairy farm in the area. The local community of farmers has been plagued by a series of mysterious attacks on its farm animals in the last months, leading some farmers to blame the deadly attacks on Mr. Maliksha.“All this has been happening since he arrived in our village. He has brought death and calamity to us all” cries an 87-year-old woman, visibly distraught by the whole affair.
“Even though he was scary looking, we trusted him and this is how he repays us?” warns a local farmer, Zoltan Balog.
“I’ve lost 12 sheep and three cows to this evil creature, I am glad he is gone and hope he never comes back” he told reporters.Hassan Maliksha, the 37-year-old Syrian refugee, suffers from an atypical medical condition explains Dr. Csaba Fodor of the nearby Gyula Medical Center.
“Mr. Maliksha suffers from Hypertrichosis, also sometimes called the werewolf syndrome. It is a condition which causes his body to exhibit excessive facial and upper body hair,” he explains. “although the palms, soles, and mucous membranes are not affected” he adds.
“To my knowledge, Mr. Maliksha does not suffer from any atypical psychological disposition inferred by his physical condition but that would need to be certified by a specialist” he warns.
Local authorities have not accused the fugitive of any wrong doing for the moment but ask him “to peacefully surrender himself” as to prevent himself or others from getting harmed and to “help clarify the situation”.
